Program Information The Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) in Teaching & Learning: ELL/ESL degree program at Argosy University, San Francisco Bay Area is a 30-credit-hour degree program intended to prepare educators who work in the P-12 setting as change agents who engage actively in their communities, using appropriate pedagogy and technology to foster the development of global citizens. In addition to the core course requirements, students enrolled in this degree program will complete a four-course sequence designed to strengthen educatorsÕ knowledge and skills when working with students who are classified as English Language Learners (ELL) or English as a Second Language (ESL). Program Outcome Three: Facilitation of Classroom Instruction and Environment 3.a Develop appropriate strategies to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Program Outcome Four: Self-Assessment 4.a Develop personal and professional development plans using self-assessment processes to think systematically from practice and learn from experience. Program Outcome Five: Collaboration with Community 5.a Work collaboratively with various constituencies to develop local and global perspectives to further educational success and productive citizenship. Program Outcome Six: Knowledge of Content and Pedagogy Ð ELL/ESL 6.a Apply current practices in literacy and linguistic theories, teaching strategies, and assessment techniques in diverse settings to enhance ELL/ESL student learning.
