  • AAS

This two-year Associate in Applied Science degree program is designed to prepare students to be chefs in hotels, restaurants and in-flight feeding or catering facilities. The program is accredited by the American Culinary Federation Educational Institute. Sullivan County Community College's locale, near resorts, restaurants and hotels, provides students an edge on today's job market. The culinary arts complex includes two fully equipped bakeries, a gas kitchen, a major food production laboratory and a large multi-purpose use dining room. Under faculty supervision, students receive hands-on academic experience, similar to that in industry, involving basic food preparation and baking, advanced culinary techniques and the art of dining room service. The additional opportunity to explore the chosen field may be done through an internship course.
