The MA in Archaeological Heritage Management provides detailed expertise in recording, management, law, and policy approaches related to heritage development, presentation, and preservation, both nationally and internationally. Training includes courses on the history of the field, ethical considerations, relevant policies and legal instruments, as well as in-depth study of specific archaeological subjects and regions. Students acquire applicable technical skills such as GIS approaches to landscape planning, geophysical technologies, web design, and digital reconstruction. Graduates will be competitive for employment in both the public and private sectors, in venues ranging from the United States Park Service, the National Trust, cultural resource management (CRM), municipal urban planning, and the tourism and hospitality fields. The program requires a practicum, internship, or other apprenticeship to provide requisite professional experience.
