The Master of Information Technology & Management (MITM) and Cyber Forensics and Security are degree programs designed primarily for prospective and current IT professionals who seek a hands-on, laboratory based program with theoretical underpinnings to broaden and deepen their knowledge of new and emerging information technologies, the application and integration of these technologies, and the administrative practices used in the effective management of these technologies. The Master's degree programs may be completed through evening coursework and/or entirely via online courses. If the program is completed online, a smaller number of specializations will be available. The courses in the Information Technology and Management program are designed to provide a solid knowledge of the field and to prepare you to take industry-standard certification exams for certifications from organizations such as CompTIA; Microsoft; Sun; Oracle; the Institute for Certification of Computing Professionals; the Linux Professional Institute; Adobe; the System Administration, Networking and Security (SANS) Institute and more. The Master's of Cyber Forensics and Security program is designed for students seeking knowledge that will prepare them for careers in computer forensics and network security technologies and to deal with the challenging computer and network security problems facing society. The program draws on courses from IIT's Chicago-Kent College of Law curriculum and IIT's School of Applied Technology Information and Technology Management curriculum to give cyber security and forensics practitioners the necessary thorough grounding in technology, legal issues and compliance. The Certificate programs are a series of 4 graduate courses that are designed for students that want to concentrate on a particular area of information technology. All courses may be later applied toward the Master of Information Technology and Management degree or the Master of Cyber Forensics and Security degree for those who apply and are accepted to the degree program.
