Objectives of the Chemistry Department Understand chemistry from a broad point of view, including its relationship to other sciences. Acquire a basic knowledge of organic, physical, analytical, and inorganic chemistry. Gain an understanding of the basic tools, techniques, and instrumentation involved in industrial uses of chemistry as well as chemical research. Gain an understanding of how to collect, organize, and interpret chemical data. Learn to organize chemical information and be able to present it in oral and written form
