Basic Digital Photography for DSLR Cameras - Afternoon Session

Basic Digital Photography for DSLR Cameras - Afternoon Session

Pasadena City College - Pasadena, CA

  • Non-Credit

When photographic quality, rather than convenience, is preferred, the Digital Single Lens Reflect (DSLR) camera is the common choice. To get the most out of a camera, it is important to understand the basic and advanced controls. This workshop begins in the classroom where students will learn about ISO settings, white balancing, camera icons, camera menus, formatting, flash settings, and how to decipher a camera manual. Focal length lenses, camera modes A & S, shutter speed and aperture priority, files sizing, and basic compositional techniques also will be covered. At Pasadena City Hall, we will put what we learned to the test. The instructor will be present to offer advice and answer questions.
