The joint major in Linguistics & Philosophy provides a solid foundation in both disciplines and allows students to explore theoretical issues and basic philosophical questions raised in connection with discussions of meaning, intention, and reference. Thirteen courses in all are required for the major, with at least six courses each in linguistics and philosophy. One semester of honors research can be counted toward the 13 required courses.
